Cookies & analytics

When you visit our website, we use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Make the site work correctly (for example security and basic navigation).
  • Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it (analytics cookies), only if you consent to this.

We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising or to build marketing profiles across other websites.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are needed for the site to function and cannot easily be switched off. They may include security/session cookies used by our hosting and basic preferences such as remembering that you have dismissed the cookie banner. You can block these in your browser, but parts of the site may not work properly.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use our website. Analytics cookies are non-essential and are only set if you choose to accept them via our cookie banner.

Google Analytics collects information such as which pages you visit, how long you stay on them, links you click, and basic device and region information. We configure Google Analytics so that it does not collect information that directly identifies you, but Google may process pseudonymous identifiers (such as truncated IP addresses and device identifiers).

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing cookies or changing your browser settings.

Talent Questionnaire

If you complete the Talent Questionnaire, we use your answers to generate your results, including visualisations and written insights. If you provide your email address and tick the consent box, we will:

  • Email you a copy of your results; and
  • Store your email and summary results so a member of our team can follow up.

We do not share your individual responses with third parties for their own marketing. We may use aggregated and anonymised questionnaire data to understand common priorities and improve our product and content. Individual respondents will not be identifiable in this aggregated data.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above and to meet our legal obligations. As a guide:

  • Website enquiries and follow-up correspondence are generally kept for up to 2 years.
  • Talent Questionnaire submissions with contact details are generally kept for up to 2 years after your last interaction, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Analytics data is retained in line with our Google Analytics retention settings.

Legal bases under UK GDPR

We rely on the following legal bases to process your data:

  • Consent – for setting analytics cookies and for emailing you your Talent Questionnaire results and related follow-up where you have clearly opted in.
  • Legitimate interests – for responding to enquiries, basic business administration and record keeping, and ensuring the security and performance of our website.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have rights including to request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or objection to our use of it, and data portability in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@mapsandpathways.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we use your data.
